Hi I'm Petie, A Shih Tzu Enthusiast
and Masterpiece Artist.....
Glad you could
stop by for a visit.
Several years ago, my daughter Stefanie brought home a tiny
little Shih Tzu baby, "Coabie" for a pet. I fell instantly in
LOVE with him. And the rest as they say is history. I was so
enamored by the breed, that I decided to try my hand at
raising them. I had no mentors or guides, so I used the trial
and error method... make mistakes, lick your wounds, learn
from them, and carry on. I have learned a lot, and fallen alot
along this bumpy path, but the love of my family and the Tzus
has always picked me up and kept me going.People who are
owned by their Tzus tell me they are "almost human", but I
feel personally from living with and knowing them, that they are
NOT almost human, way above that , and to  call them "almost
human" is an insult to the breed. On the other hand, properly
trained, a man can become a Tzus best friend! Your Shih Tzu
is the best friend you will ever have. No one appreciates the
special genius of your conversation like a Tzu. A Shih Tzu is
the only being on earth, that loves you more than you love
yourself!! Shih Tzus are unconditional friends, they ask no
questions and pass no judgements. There is no psychiatrist in
the world like a Tzu licking the tears of sadness from your
face. When it hurts to look back, and you are afraid to look
ahead, look beside you, because your Tzu will always be there
for you. A Shih Tzu is truly a heartbeat at your feet!!
My puppies are handled  and loved  and coddled from the moment
they are born. My babies are happy, and it shows!!! Actually we talk
to them and kiss the Moms tummy before they are born!!! They are
stroked and soothed and have lullablys sung to them. They never hear
a harsh word. My dogs are
never crated or kenneled. It is cruel and
unusual punishment to confine a Shih Tzu. It truly breaks their
SPIRITS!! If you have never tried to calm, love, socialize, and
housebreak a Shih Tzu puppy that has been in a crate constantly for
the first 8 weeks of their lives, you don't know what a tragedy it
truly is. They  never develop a bond with humans or other animals,
they are afraid and can barely stand to be petted or touched. Some
chase their tails constantly and some hide under the table or in the
rungs of a chair because it feels safe and familiar to them. Cage
rage can develop in a confined Shih Tzu. And housbreaking.... that
is a nightmare in itself!! Statistics show that the #1 reason for
animals ending up in shelters is failure to housetrain.
I consider the early socialization of my puppies my most treasured
responsibility. This is not to say that training and molding baby Tzu
is a SNAP, far from it. It is a day in, day out , sometimes all night
labor of love. Sometimes when you have a Momma struggling with
labor, or new puppies coming, or have an ill puppy or dog that needs
to be held and rocked, or a new baby puppy that requires
supplemental feeding every couple of hours, sleep is non-existant.
I've learned to take cat naps standing up. Tzus take no holidays.
They don't come with calendars and watches. I've delivered puppies
on the dining room floor while my family is eating Christmas dinner at
the table. A baby Tzu ready to come into the world and inhale its
first life giving breath waits for no man. Tzus need care, attention,
and love and hugs everyday of the year. Shih Tzus crave human
attention, and want nothing more than to please you. Shih Tzus are
living dolls, you just can't put them on a shelf like a plastic doll and
get them down and play with them when you feel like it ,or have the
extra time. A Shih Tzu is for LIFE!!
My entire family supports me in my passion of raising the Tzus. My
husband of 32 years, Steve, "Papa" to the Tzus, my daughter
Stefanie and son Jason and my son Spencer. Everyone helps with all
aspects of this enormous labor of
LOVE!! Of course everyones
favorite job is helping to play with and socialize and train the
puppies, but who can blame them there? Of course there are still
the menial jobs of cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, filling water and food
dishes, washing tons of diapers and bedding and toys and misc.
laundry, and of course the most favorite job of all, cleaning the play
yards and poop scooping!! (grin) The puppies and the adult dogs are a
24/7 obligation, not a 9-5 job, a duty not to be taken lightly, no days
off, no vacations. Like human Motherhood, raising Shih Tzus is not for
the faint or hearts or wimps, it is old fashioned hard and  back
breaking work. Daddy and Jay just finished building me a new play
yard and a puppy ramp to help the wee ones navigate the stairs. My
deepest and most sincere thanks and unconditionall
LOVE to my
blessed family, for tolerating this addictive and demanding passion
of mine, and thanks for making my dreams come true.
I
LOVE you all...
My puppies are unconditionally guaranteed. They are certified healthy and
happy. All puppies are backed by my "NO BONESGUARANTEE". I stand
behind my dogs 100%. All puppies are de-wormed, vaccinated with age
appropriate vacs, administered coccidia preventative, pad-trained, AVID
micro-chipped, "PETRAC" chip registered, spayed or neutered, pinched
nostrils opened aka wedge resection, umbilical hernias repaired,  and vet
health checked by Dr. Glenn Fahnestock @ Eastview Veterinary Clinic, in
Penn Yan, NY.... a 2 and a half hour round trip for me, but excellent
veterinary care for my babies is a necessity.. If you send me a deposit,
and for whatever reason you are unable to or decide not to adopt a puppy,
I will refund your deposit money in full , no questions asked. I don't believe
in keeping someones money, it is illegal, morally wrong and just bad for
business. I trust in my puppies enough to know that  they are adoptable
at
any age
, so if for some reason you can no longer properly care for your
Tzu, I will take it back anytime, or work with you to find it a loving and
suitable new home. Unlike some breeders, I don't worry about how "fast"
my puppies are sold, I am more concerned that all puppies are placed in the
right home and environment.. All Trinketzus puppies carry a lifetime, like
puppy replacement warranty, against any life threatening or crippling genetic
diseases, originating from the pre-natal stage. All puppies and retired adult
dogs are spayed or neutered and AVID micro-chipped before placement. I
pride myself in my high ethics and standards, superb quality, and my
honesty and integrity and committment to  excellence. I would never force
one of my puppies on anyone that would feel the obligation that, if they had
a deposit on account, and could not adopt, that they would adopt the puppy
anyway, due to the fear of losing their deposit money. All puppies, like
children, should be loved and wanted and needed and cared for. Life
happens, and situations change and sometimes things just don't work out. I
want you to feel confident in the adoption of a TrinkeTzu puppy of retired
adult dog.
"THE END"
Now you know a bit about me and my breeding program
and my ideals. I am VERY fussy about who gets my
babies, so if you are seriously interested in adopting a
TrinkeTzu, please be prepared to tell me about yourself,
your family, and why you feel your life would be
enriched by the
LOVE of a TrinkeTzu. I require an
adoption application from potential clients, because I
care!!!!!
